The equilibrium composition for the reaction

PC1 3 + C1 2 PC1 5 at 298 K is given below:

[PCl 3 ] eq = 0.2mol L -1 , [Cl 2 ] eq = 0.1 mol L -1 , [PCl 6 ] eq = 0.40 mol L -1

If 0.2 mol of Cl2 is added at the same temperature, the equilibrium concentrations of PCl 5 is_____x10 -2 mol L -1

If 0.2 moles of C1 2 is added. When reactant is added the reaction takes place in forward direction.

(0.4 + X)= 20(0.3 - X)(0. 2 - X)

0.4 + X = 20(0.06 + X 2 - 0.5X)

0.4 + X = 1.2 + 20X 2 -10X

20X 2 -11X +0.8 = 0
