Ethanol-acetone mixture shows positive deviation due to weaker interaction in

comparison to or interaction. Pure ethanol molecules are hydrogen bonded. When acetone is added, its molecules get in between the ethanol molecules and break some of the hydrogen bonds between them. Thus, the intermolecular attractive interactions are weakens and the solution shows positive deviation from Raoult's law.
