• Male genital pouch of cockroaches contains dorsal anus, ventral male genital pore and gonapophysis.

• The anterior part of the female genital pouch, also known as the vestibulum or gynatrium, does contain the female gonopore, spermathecal pores, and the opening of the collateral glands. These structures are all crucial for reproduction.

• Cockroaches have an open circulatory system. Their blood, called hemolymph, flows freely within the body cavity, or hemocoel, and bathes the organs directly. The hemolymph enters the heart through the ostia and is then pumped forward (anteriorly) to circulate through the body sinuses before returning to the heart.
