Here, n 1 = x 1 x 2 x 3 and n 2 = y 1 y 2 y

⇒ n 1 can be subtracted from n 2 without borrowing

if y i ≥ x i for i = 1, 2, 3.

∴ Let x i = r ⇒

∴ y i = r, r + 1, ……, 9.

Thus, for y 1 , y 2 and y 3 we have (10 – r) choices each

⇒ Total number of ways for choosing y i and x i

= ·

= 45 · 55 · 55 = 45 · (55) 2
