Sol. (i) 2 cos x = x

cos x =
y = cos x and y = 
(ii) – 5 ≤ 4 cos 2x – 3sin 2x ≤ 5
– 5 + 10 ≤ 4 cos 2x – 3 sin 2x + 10 ≤ 5 + 10
max = 15 ⇒ min = 5
