then value of k at (3,4)
= 3 × 3 – 4 × 4 – 8 = – 15 < 0
∴ For point P(x, y) we should have k > 0
⇒ 3x – 4y – 8 > 0
⇒ 3x – 4(– 3x) – 8 > 0{
P(x,y)lie on y = –3x}
⇒ 15x – 8 > 0 ⇒ x > 8/15
and – y – 4y – 8 > 0
y < – 8/5
