Equation of normal at the point (1, 2) w.r.t. the parabola
y 2 = 4x is x + y –3 = 0.
Let the centre of the circle be ( α α , β β ) ⇒ ⇒ α α + β β – 3 = 0. …. (1)
Also ( α α –1) 2 + ( β β –2) 2 = α α 2 + β β 2 i.e 2 α α + 4 β β = 5.
From (1) and (2), α α = 7/2 and β β = –1/2.
