Sol. The displacement of the particle is
y = 0.2 sin 50 π (t + 0.01) meter.
The general eq. of S.H.M. is y = a sin ( ω t + φ ).
Comparing it with the given equation, we get
amplitude, a = 0.2 meter and ω = 50 π .
∴ periodic-time T =
=
= 0.04 second.
The velocity of the particle at the displacement y is given by u =
The maximum velocity (at y = 0) is
u max = ω a = 50 × 3.14 × 0.2 = 31.4 meter/sec.
