Sol. We have,
φ (x) = cos x – 
By using Lebnitz's rule, we get
φ′ (x) = –sin x – 
= – sin x – 
Differentiating both sides w.r. to x, we get
φ′′ (x) = –cos x – φ (x)
⇒ φ′′ (x) + φ (x) = –cos x
