Let [x] be the greatest integer less than or equals to x. Then, at which of the following point(s) the function f(x) = x cos( π (x + [x])) is discontinuous ?
Text Solution
Verified by ExpertsThe correct answer is:
CHECK THE SOLUTION.
(a,b,d)
Sol. f(x) = xcos( π (x + [x])
Check continuity at x = n
f(n) = ncos2n π = n
f(n + ) = ncos2n π = n
f(n – ) = ncos(2n–1) π = – n
It is discontinous at all integer points except 0
