• This section contains TWO (02) paragraphs. Based on each paragraph, there are TWO (02) questions.

• Each question has FOUR options. ONLY ONE of these four options corresponds to the correct answer.

Treatment of benzene with CO/HC1 in the presence of anhydrous AlCl 3 /CuCl followed by reaction with Ac 2 O/NaOAc gives compound X as the major product.
