The co-ordinates of the mid-points of the sides of a triangle ABC are D(2, 1), E(5, 3) and
F(3, 7). Find the length and equation of side AB
Text Solution
Verified by ExpertsThe correct answer is:
B
Let coordinate of A is (a, b)
= 2 ⇒ 16 – 2a = 4 ⇒ a = 6
= 1 ⇒ 2b = 18 ⇒ b = 9

Hence A(6, 9), B(0, 5), c(4, – 3)
Length of sides AB = = 2 ; BC = = 4
AC = = = 2
and their equations are AB : 2x – 3y + 15 = 0
BC : 2x + y – 5 = 0
AC : 6x – y – 27 = 0
