Given a function f : A → B ; where A = {1, 2, 3, 4, 5} and B = {6, 7, 8}
(i) Find number of all such functions y = f(x) which are one-one?
Text Solution
Verified by ExpertsThe correct answer is:
A
(i)a (ii)c (iii)d
Sol. 1. Number of one-one functions = 0
2. Total number of function = 3 5 = 243
Number of into function = 3 + 3(2 5 – 2) = 93
total number of onto function = 243 – 93 = 150
3. ⇒ g(6) ≤ g(7) ≤ g(8)
