For a set of six true or false statements, no student in a class has written all correct answers and no two students in the class have written the same sequence of answers. What is the maximum number of students in the class, for this to be possible.

Sol. Each statement can be answered in two ways. Hence all the six statements can be answered in

2 × 2 × 2 × 2 × 2 × 2 = 2 6 ways.

So, there are almost 64 sequences of answers are possible. Out of these one is totally correct which no student has attempted. So, there are almost 64 – 1 = 63 students in the class.
