The major direct causes of global biodiversity loss are:

(1).Overexploitation – Hunting, fishing, logging beyond sustainable limits.

(2).Habitat destruction – Deforestation, urbanization, agriculture.

(3).Introduction of alien species & diseases – Exotic predators, invasive species.

Global warming is a recent indirect threat; while it affects biodiversity, it is not considered a primary cause compared to the above three.
