Fibrinogen is a glycoprotein in vertebrates, that help in the formation of blood clots. Prothrombin is the glycoprotein occurring in the blood plasma and an essential component of blood clotting mechanism. Heparin is the glycosaminoglycan that prevents the blood clot. Thromboplastin is a plasma protein aiding blood coagulation through catalyzing the conversion of prothrombin to thrombin. As the conversion is dependent on thromboplastin, it can cause coagulation at the site of introduction.
