In slide wire bridge (meter bridge), the balance point is obtained in the middle so as to increase the its sensitivity and thereby no deflection in the galvanometer. So, it minimizes error in measuring resistance with the help of slide wire bridge. The wire of slide wire bridge is made of manganin and constantan because it has low value of coefficient of thermal resistance.
