Figure ' ' is of cuboidal epithelium. It is composed of single layer of cube-like cells and commonly found in ducts of glands and tubular parts of nephrons in kidney. Their main functions are secretion and absorption. Figure ' A ' represents compound epithelium. It is made up of more than one layer of cells and thus has limited role in secretion and absorption. They cover the dry surface of the skin, the moist surface of buccal cavity, pharynx, inner lining of ducts of salivary glands and of pancreatic duct.
