In cockroaches, fertilization is internal. The male deposits spermatophores, which are stored in the spermatheca of the female. When eggs are released, they are fertilized inside the female's genital pouch before being enclosed in a capsule-like case called the ootheca. So, fertilization occurs in the genital pouch of the female.
