A pair of phrenic arteries arise from the aorta and supply the diaphragm. The inferior phrenic arteries supply the diaphragm. They arise either from the aorta or from the celiac artery. The superior phrenic arteries arise from the lower part of the thoracic aorta. They join with the musculophrenic and pericardiacophrenic arteries.
