C 12 H 22 O 11 (s) + 12O 2 (g) → → 12CO 2 (g) + 11H 2 O (g)
Here,
Δ Δ n = sum of gaseous product moles – sum of gaseous reactant moles
Δ Δ n = 12 + 11 – 12
Δ Δ n = 11
As we Know
Δ Δ H = Δ Δ E + Δ Δ n RT, Where Δ Δ H = heat of reaction at constant pressure
Δ Δ E = heat of reaction at constant volume
Here, Δ Δ E = – 1348.9 kcal
R = 2.0 cal, T = 25+273 = 298 K
∴ ∴ Δ Δ H = (–1348.9 × × 1000) + 11 × × 2 × × 298
= – 1348900 + 6556 = – 1342344 cal
= – 1342.344 kcal
