Which one is the correct order of acidity ?
Text Solution
Verified by ExpertsThe correct answer is:
B
Alkynes more acidic than alkenes which are further more acidic than alkanes due to the different electro negativity of sp, sp 2 and sp 3 hybride carbon (order of electro negativity = C sp > C sp 2 > C sp 3 ) +I effect decreases the acidic strength of alkynes so the overall order of acidic strength will be CH ≡ CH > CH 3 –C ≡ CH > CH 2 =CH 2 > CH 3 –CH 3
