5 ml of As 2 S 3 is mixed with distilled water and 0.01 M solution of an electrolyte AB so that total volume is 10 ml. it was found that all solution containing more than 5 ml of AB coagulate within 5 min. What is the Flocculation value of AB for As 2 S 3 sol?
Text Solution
Verified by ExpertsThe correct answer is:
5
5
A minimum of 5 ml of AB is required to coagulate the sol, the moles of AB in sol is =
= 0.005 moles this means that a minimum of 0.005 moles or 0.005 x 1000 = 5 milli moles are required for coagulation 1 litre of sol. flocculation value of AB for As 2 S 3 sol = 5
