Hydrogen gas contains atoms with different electrons and nuclear spin. If the nuclear spins are in the same direction, then that hydrogen molecule is known as ortho hydrogen. However, if the nuclear spins are in the opposite directions, then that hydrogen molecule is called as para hydrogen. Hydrogen present in room temperature has 75% ortho character and 25% para character.
