How does the conductivity of a semiconductor change if its temperature is raised?

In semiconductor fairly small band gap is present between valence band (filled with electrons) and conduction band (lowest unoccupied energy band). Increase in temperature gives thermal energy to some of the electrons and they move to conduction band and change the conductivity of semiconductor (Increase).
