Cortisol is secreted from the adrenal gland. The zona fasciculata region of adrenal cortex secretes cortisol, corticosterone and cortisone. These hormones are involved in maintaining glucose homeostasis.
Pancreas is a composite gland which secretes insulin, glucagon and somatostatin.
Thyroid gland secretes thyroxine or tetraiodothyronine and triiodothyronine , which regulate the metabolic rate of the body and maintain basal metabolic rate. Thyroid gland also secrete calcitonin. Thymus secretes thymosin, involved in providing cell mediated immunity to the body.
