T 1 V 1 γ – 1 = T 2 V 2 γ – 1

300 × V 1/3 = T 2 × (27 V) 1/3 ⇒ T 2 = 100 K

For reversible adiabatic process,

q = 0

Δ U = W

⇒ W = n C V Δ T

⇒ W = 1 × 25.08 × (100 – 300) = – 5.016 kJ
