Calculation of [Ag + ] left in the solution :
K sp (Ag 2 CO 3 ) = [Ag + ] [CO 3 2– ]
[Ag + ] =
= 2.25 × 10 –6 M
Concentration of Cl – left = 0.00284 g/L =
mol/L = 8 × 10 –5 M
∴ K sp (AgCl) = [Ag + ] [Cl – ] = (2.25 × 10 –6 ) (8 × 10 –5 ) = 1.8 × 10 –10 .
