Purpose of NEET

NEET is required for admission to the following undergraduate programs:

1. MBBS – Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery

   • Duration: 5.5 years (4.5 years of study + 1-year internship)
   • Scope: Qualifies graduates to become licensed medical doctors or surgeons.
   • Further Opportunities: MD/MS, government and private hospitals, clinics, or abroad practice.

2. BDS – Bachelor of Dental Surgery

   • Duration: 5 years (4 years study + 1-year internship)
   • Trains students to become qualified dental practitioners
   • Offers career scope in private clinics, hospitals, or higher studies (MDS)

3. AYUSH Courses (Traditional Indian Medical Systems)

   AYUSH is an acronym for Ayurveda, Yoga ans Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, and Homeopathy. These are traditional Indian systems of medicine that are gaining recognition in India and globally.
   AYUSH offer a variety of undergraduate and poatgraduate programs in there different systems.
   

   Undergraduate Courses:

   • BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery) – 5.5 years
   • BHMS (Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery) – 5.5 years
   • BUMS (Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery) – 5.5 years
   • BSMS (Bachelor of Siddha Medicine and Surgery) – 5.5 years
   • BNYS (Bachelor of Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences) – 5.5 years
   • These programs focus on ancient and alternative Indian medical systems and include a 1-year internship

4. Veterinary and Allied Health Sciences

   • BVSc & AH (Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry) – 5.5 years
   • Focuses on animal medicine, surgery, and husbandry sciences

5. Other Courses through NEET

   • BPT (Bachelor of Physiotherapy) – 4.5 years (including internship)
   • B.Sc. Nursing – 4 years
   • These courses train students in rehabilitation, clinical nursing, and patient care
