The syllabus is mainly based on topics taught in Classes 11 and 12. However, NTA does not provide a fixed Class 11 and Class 12 weightage. Students should therefore prepare the complete syllabus instead of depending only on selected chapters.

The National Testing Agency has not yet released the official JEE Main 2027 syllabus. As of July 2026, the official JEE Main website displays the JEE Main 2026 Information Bulletin and syllabus as the latest available documents.
Until the 2027 syllabus is published, students can safely begin their preparation using the latest official JEE Main 2026 syllabus. It contains the detailed subject-wise topics for Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.
Once NTA releases the new syllabus, students should compare both PDFs carefully and check for:

The Paper 2B syllabus consists of three sections, including Mathematics, Aptitude, and Planning. The planning section of the JEE Main Paper 2B evaluates the students’ knowledge of urban planning, sustainability, and environmental concepts.

Begin with Optics, Electrostatics, Current Electricity and Magnetism because these chapters combine concepts with numerical problems. Mechanics should also receive regular attention, especially Rotational Motion, Work, Energy and Power, and Laws of Motion.
Maintain a short formula notebook and solve chapter-wise previous-year questions after completing each topic. Physics preparation should focus on understanding the concept first and applying the correct formula second.

For Inorganic Chemistry, study NCERT carefully and revise reactions, trends and exceptions regularly. For Organic Chemistry, strengthen General Organic Chemistry before moving to reaction-based chapters.
Physical Chemistry requires formula revision and numerical practice. Give special attention to Thermodynamics, Equilibrium, Electrochemistry, Solutions and Chemical Kinetics. Do not completely skip smaller topics, as question distribution may change from one shift to another.
Mathematics trends show a strong contribution from Algebra, Calculus and Coordinate Geometry.
