JEE Mains 2025: An Overview

The Joint Entrance Examination Main, or JEE-Main, was earlier known as the All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE). It is an esteemed test in India. It is a qualification entrance to undergraduate courses in engineering (B.Tech), architecture (B.Arch), and planning (B.Planning) in different institutions in the country. The exam, which is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) enables one to join these technical courses.

Eligibility Criteria

    Educational Qualification:

    At least 75 percent in 12th or top 20 percentile to secure admission in college. Major courses include mathematics and physics as well as one of the following: technical vocational subjects, biology, chemistry, or biotechnology.

    Age Limit:
  • The NTA does not have any minimum or maximum age requirement. It might however depend on individual institutes (such as IITs) which might also have some age requirements.
  • Who Can Apply:
  • The Indian nationals, OCI/PIO cardholders and foreign nationals.
  • Students who have appeared in the 12 board examination, or 12 pass out (2024,2025 or 2026) of 2024,2025 or 2026 (in case of 2026 JEE Mains Exam) have attended 12 classes.
  • Diploma graduates may also take JEE Mains but may not get admission to NITs/IIITs using it.
