CBSE Class 9

CBSE stands for the Central Board of Secondary Education. It is a national-level board of education in India for both public and private schools. The board is managed by the Union Government of India and is responsible for conducting examinations for Classes 10 and 12, known as the All India Secondary School Examination (AISSE) and the All India Senior School Certificate Examination (AISSCE), respectively.

Internal Assessment (20 marks)

• Periodic Test (05 marks): 3 tests conducted throughout the year.
• Multiple Assessment (05 marks): Quizzes, project-work, self and peer assessment, collaborative projects, experiments, classroom demonstrations, etc.
• Notebook Submission, Portfolio (05 marks): Neatness, regularity, and record keeping.
• Subject Enrichment Activity (05 marks): Practical/lab activities, listening/speaking (Languages), map work (Social Science), etc.

Grading System

The grading in class IX will be as follows:

Subjects offered:

Attendance Requirements

Minimum 75% attendance is mandatory.

Relaxation may be granted under medical or special cases with valid proof.

Must secure 33% marks (overall) including internal and final exam.

If a student fails in any one of the main subjects, the 6th subject (if passed) can replace it (as per CBSE rules).

Language III will not replace a failed subject.
