Arsenic has five valence electrons, so it is a donor impurity. Hence becomes − − type semiconductor. I.ndium has only three outer electrons, so it is an acceptor impurity. Hence becomes − − type semiconductor. Also is connected to positive terminal of battery and is connected to negative terminal of battery so − − junction is reverse biased.
