Two blocks of 7 kg and 5 kg are connected by a heavy rope of mass 4 kg. An upward force of 200N is applied as shown in the diagram. The tension at the top of heavy rope at point P is- (g = 10 m/s 2 )

Text Solution
Verified by ExpertsThe correct answer is:
B
Equation of motion of system 200 - (7+4+5) g = (7+4+5) a
200 - (7+4+5) g = (7+4+5) a

⇒ a = 40/16 m/s 2
Equation of motion of 7kg block 200 - T -7×g = 7×a = 7× (40/6) =35/2
⇒ 200 - 35/2 - 70 = T
⇒ T = 112.5 N
