Find the final charges in steady state on the four capacitors of capacitance 2µF, 4µF, 6µF and 8µF as shown in figure. (Assuming initially they are uncharged). Also find the current through the wire AB at steady state.

Sol. At steady state:

Current in wire AB at steady state =
= 1 amp.
Charge on 2µF capacitor = 2 × 2 ×10 – 6 = 4µC
Charge on 4µF capacitor = 4 × 4 ×10 – 6 = 16µC
Charge on 6µF capacitor = 2 × 6 ×10 – 6 = 12µC
Charge on 8µF capacitor = 4 × 8 ×10 – 6 = 32µC.
