Considering, the given wire ' P ' and ' Q ' are identical i.e., both the wires have same length and same area and an equal stretching force is applied along the length of the two wires.

Since, the elongation of ' Q ' is more than that of ' P ' so, the Young's modulus of Q is less than that of ' P '. Therefore P is more elastic than Q because greater the value of Young's modulus of a substance, higher is its elasticity.
