Figure shows ABCDEF as a regular hexagon. What is the value of \overrightarrow{AB} + \overrightarrow{AC} + \overrightarrow{AD} + \overrightarrow{AE} + \overrightarrow{AF}

Text Solution
Verified by ExpertsThe correct answer is:
D
It is equal to 5\overrightarrow{AB} + 4\overrightarrow{BC} + 3\overrightarrow{CD} + 2\overrightarrow{DE} + \overrightarrow{EF} .
But \overrightarrow{AB} = - \overrightarrow{DE} and \overrightarrow{BC} = \overrightarrow{EF}
So, 3[\overrightarrow{AB} + \overrightarrow{BC} + \overrightarrow{CD}] = 3[\overrightarrow{AD}] = 6\overrightarrow{AO}
