The particle velocity is maximum at B and is given by $\frac{\mathrm{dy}}{\mathrm{dt}} = (\mathrm{v_p})_{\max} = \omega A$ Also wave velocity is $\frac{\mathrm{dx}}{\mathrm{dt}} = v = \frac{\omega}{k}$ So slope $\frac{\mathrm{dy}}{\mathrm{dx}} = \frac{(\mathrm{v_p})_{\max}}{v} = kA$
