In horizontal plane Kinetic Energy of the block is completely converted into heat due to
Friction but in the case of inclined plane some part of this Kinetic Energy is also convert into gravitational Potential Energy. So, decrease in the mechanical energy in second situation is smaller than that in the first situation. So, statement-1 is correct.
Coefficient of Friction does not depend on normal reaction, In II case normal reaction changes with
inclination but not coefficient of friction so this statement is wrong.
