In a two-block system shown in figure match the following:

Column I | Column II |
(i) Velocity of center of mass | [A] Changing all the time |
(ii) Momentum of centre mass | [B] First decreases then becomes zero |
(iii) Momentum of 1kg block | [C] Zero |
(iv) Kinetic energy of 2 kg block | [D] Constant |
Text Solution
Verified by ExpertsThe correct answer is:
(i)-[C], [D], (ii)-[C], [D], (iii)-[B], (iv)-[B]
Sol. As no external force is acting velocity of centre of mass will be constant. Also due to friction speed of both blocks decreases and becomes zero.
