V cm = Ans.

F = 0 ; p = constant

m 2 v 0 = (m 1 +m 2 )v

& m 2 = m 1 v 2 + m 2 v 2 + k

V cm → remain unchanged

m 2 = (m 1 + m 2 ) + k

m 2 = k

∴ m 2 = k

= ⇒ x 0 = v 0 Ans
